The only place where dreams are impossible is in your own mind. – Robert Schuller

The only place where dreams are impossible is in your own mind.

Robert Schuller

The human mind is capable of wonders no other species is – thinking big. We can construct entire worlds inside that seemingly small head of ours. In view of that, it seems unfathomable, nay criminal as to why one would let the same mind limit them.

Our greatest limitations stem from our own fears. Our mind can be the fertile soil for our dreams to sprout from. However, we often allow the clouds of self-doubt to block out those dreams. We become so convinced about the ridiculousness of our own aspirations that they begin to seem impossible. And that’s when our thoughts become our biggest enemies, leading us into believing that success is a privilege reserved for a select few.

Nothing, however, could be further from the truth. The only place where dreams are impossible is in our minds. We ourselves are responsible for creating the barriers that hold us back from becoming what we are truly capable of. Unsurprisingly, the very mind that created these obstacles can also give us the power to overcome them. Even a tiny spark of inspiration is enough to bring about this change in perspective.

Our motivation is what keeps us going in the face of adversity. A driven individual is more focused on his own strengths than the challenges that lie in his way. He is completely aware of the fact that his own thoughts are his only possible undoing, and he makes sure to keep his mind brimming with positivity and optimism.

History is arguably the biggest testimony to this. From the light bulb in our homes to the majestic air planes that fly us from one corner of the world to another, all these inventions were once nothing more than a figment of someone’s imagination. All these achievements, which were once inconceivable, came to fruition because someone somewhere believed in themselves to defy all odds.

Robert Harold Schuller was an American author. Known for his motivational quotes, Schuller once wrote: “The only place where dreams are impossible is in your own mind.”
